Climate Action Week 2024
Between 14-20 October, as part of Climate Action Week 2024, TU Dublin will lead on a host of high impact climate action events developed to engage and educate our people in decarbonisation, climate education, and climate action activity.
TU Dublin has many ongoing strategic projects and initiatives which work to transform our campus environment to be climate resilient and to reduce total energy related emissions and fossil fuel related emissions from our operations. During Climate Action Week, students, staff, and the TU Dublin Community will be invited to learn about TU Dublin’s pathway and intent to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 51% in 2030 and to increase the improvement in energy efficiency from the 33% target in 2020 to 50% by 2030.
Our ambitious task to decarbonise our campus environment and operations is a challenging one, and we need support, innovation, and urgent action from all our people to achieve our goals.
With dozens of events and learning opportunities taking place on campus during Climate Action Week, students, staff, and the wider community have an opportunity to help make progress locally and nationally on the United Nation’s (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on SDG 13 Climate Action.
Take a look at the table of climate-focused activities below and get involved during Climate Action Week (and until the end of October). Our events schedule will continue to be developed throughout - so check back for newly added events.
