Alcohol Awareness Week
Between 02 - 05 December, TU Dublin's Healthy Campus programme will host a roadshow of stands to mark Alcohol Awareness Week. In partnership with the HSE and the Tallaght Drug & Alcohol Task Force, Healthy Campus will be offering information about the impact that alcohol has on our health and wellbeing.
Tallaght Drug & Alcohol Task Force and the HSE will have an information stand with an alcohol unit measuring station where people can learn how to pour a standard drink measure. People can also learn about alcohol volume and how to manage unit measures and to spread out alcohol consumption. A 'Beer Googles' tool will also be available to try to create awareness around the risks associated with drinking and other associated behaviours.
Healthy Campus will provide health literature on alcohol and TU Dublin Student Health Centre professionals will be there to provide free blood pressure checks. Students and staff who visit the stand can also take part in a quiz on alcohol to be in with a chance to win prizes. Schedule of events for this campaign is listed below.
