Dr Ciarán O'Leary is the Assistant Head of Academic Affairs - Learning, Teaching and Assessment. As the lead of the University's Learning, Teaching and Assessment (LTA) Team, Ciarán leads transformational change in learning, teaching and assessment practices in Technological University Dublin, focusing on the quality of the student learning experience and supporting academic staff.

Previously, Ciarán was Head of Teaching and Learning for the Faculty of Computing, Digital and Data (2022-2024), Head of Learning Development for the Faculty of Sciences and Health (2012-2022), and Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing (2000-2012).

Ciarán's research interests are primarily in the area of technology adoption and the formation and diffusion of digital practices, and in Universal Design. Outside of his academic work, Ciarán has a research interest in the history of sport, in particular the sporting culture in Dublin in the latter half of the nineteenth century.
