Derica Barnor
Champion Theme: Education for Sustainability
Derica Barnor is studying Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Angier Street campus in the School of Business Technology, Retail, and Supply Chain. She is a peer mentor, class representative, student ambassador, and a TU Dublin N-Tutor Student Champion for Education for Sustainability.
After working for a leading charity, she realized that the solution for humanitarian crises like poverty, world hunger, and climate change was a lack of resource efficiency, also coined sustainability.
As a business student she recognises the benefits of sustainable solutions on business and humanitarian applications. She stated, "When you look at all successful firms, there is a theme of sustainability, but the average business student is ignorant of that fact."
Derica aims to advocate for sustainability to empower students to see it not as a hippie movement but as a profitable and protective force.
