Cathal O'Malley
Champion Theme: Education for Sustainability
Cathal O'Malley is studying Product Design in the School of Mechanical Engineering, Bolton Street.
Having taken part in the European Low-Tech Sustainability Hackathon and being an active member in the N-TUTORR "Circular Economies in Design Workshops" project, he has experience in student focused sustainable activities and is working in the thematic area of education for Sustainability.
Cathal wants to help students bring sustainable practices and workflows with them as they enter the workforce. He believes that teaching students more sustainable business, design and manufacturing processes will help create a more eco-conscious culture in the companies who hire them in the future. Cathal hopes that this will empower students to not only positively influence their future workplace but their industry at large.
