In our issue today, Kate O’Moore, a graduate of TU Dublin BA Visual Communications, Graphic Design, talks to Glòria Rull at GROWTHhub about her entrepreneurial journey since graduating from TU Dublin, to becoming the Creative Director & Founder of MAKER.

Sponsored by Enterprise Ireland, Cruickshank, Grant Thornton and the Local Enterprise Office, the Student Entrepreneur Awards offers third level students from all academic disciplines the opportunity to realise their entrepreneurial ambitions. The Student Entrepreneur Awards are open to all full-time registered third level undergraduate and postgraduate students on the island of Ireland. Entries can be from individuals or teams.

Stage 1: Create a two-minute video that showcases your great idea, highlighting its commercial and export potential. The videos are then submitted via the online entry form before the closing date 11 March 2022.
TU Dublin GROWTHhub can provide:
- An Ideation Lab for you to work on the business idea (please email your request to growthhub@tudublin.ie).
- Support and guidance on putting together your video pitch.
- Greenscreen facilities and equipment to help you record your video (please email your request to growthhub@tudublin.ie).
- Ongoing support at each stage of the competition.
3. Learn! Climate Launchpad international competition
ClimateLaunchpad is funded through a project aligned to the European University of Technology and is led jointly by Dr Deirdre McQuillan (EUt+ and TU Dublin), Dr Jesus Frias (ESHI) and Dr Paul Maguire (Hothouse). It is funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology through EIT Climate-KIC. Staff and students from PhD, MSC, and undergraduate programmes participated, and mentoring supports were provided at different stages by the GROWTHhub and Hothouse.
We would like to congratulate Bio Wrap, as the first ClimateLaunchpad international competition winners.
The team comprises four students from TU204 (ME in Mechanical Engineering) and TU219 (MSc in Sustainable Infrastructure):

- Samuel Berry
In the Climate Launchpad process, they were tutored by Mark Ennis (School of Creative Arts), Jennifer McDonnell (School of Marketing) and Dr Colm O'Kane and Dr Kevin Delaney (both School of Mechanical and Design Engineering) in an interdisciplinary project funded by a GROWTHhub bursary.
