Sohini De is the founder of Empeal, multi award-winning AI powered digital health company providing data-driven, clinician-led health and wellbeing solutions in a gamified way. Empeal is your 24/7 health coach, focused on prevention and management of chronic conditions.

Sohini set up Empeal 5 years ago after working in global organisations for more than twenty years including managing global equity investment funds. She also holds a distinction in nutritional therapy based on lifestyle medicine and this led to her interest in health and technology innovation, and ultimately founding Empeal.

Sohini is an important voice for the SME and startup sectors in Ireland and she is motivated to support a flourishing and truly diversified entrepreneurial ecosystem. She is an elected member of the Dublin Chamber Policy Council and Budget and Competitive Taskforce. She also sits on the Finance Strategic Policy Committee of Dublin City Council, which prepares and debates policy alternatives for financial affairs for Dublin City Council.

Sohini is looking forward to working with students, who are passionate about solving today’s problems with innovative ideas. She has already served as a judge on ivenTUre, the TU Dublin student entrepreneurship accelerator. Sohini is particularly willing to offer advice in business strategy, financial planning, building commercial and product roadmaps, user experience and cocreation models, and investment proposals, as well as providing general entrepreneurial mentorship.

Reading is Sohini’s principal pastime, with a particular interest in keeping up with the latest developments in the fields of health and technology, history and nature.
