Successful university enterprise bespoke programme launches second iteration

On the 14th February, a second cohort of BT Sourced staff commenced the Certificate in Applied Procurement Management, building on the successful collaboration with BT Sourced, the IDA and the School of Business, Technology, Retail and Supply Chain that was brokered by the Enterprise Academy.
This co-designed programme, tailored to the needs of BT Sourced’s staff across the globe is delivered online. The Enterprise Academy supported the school’s team with the digital enablement of this programme.
The Certificate in Applied Procurement Management is designed for professionals to enhance their skills and to enable them to help drive innovation and change across BT Sourced and the wider BT Group. Accredited professional development at BT Sourced, is designed to strengthen the future skills of the organisation, ensuring it remains at the forefront of an increasingly competitive market.
The first cohort of this programme which ran in 2024, saw 24 staff members from BT Sourced's Dublin offices successfully complete the programme. A detailed review was carried out by BT Sourced’s Learning and Development team and the School’s programme team to accommodate a wider group of online learners.
Digital Enablement in the teaching and learning
One of the activities of the Enterprise Academy is to explore and demonstrate best practice in Digital Enablement in the teaching and learning of part-time professional learners. Members of the Enterprise Academy team work with TU Dublin academics to co-create blended eLearning materials. In 2025 the BT Sourced Cert in Applied Procurement Management is being delivered for the first time as a fully online mode, to an international audience of learners across several continents.
Enterprise Academy staff have been working closely with TU Dublin’s School of Business Technology Retail and Supply Chain to explore ways to enhance the teaching and learning for the online programme. This work includes bite-sized video recordings of lecture materials and the design and development of interactive eLearning resources. Additional support includes recording within green-screen studio, providing guidance on Screen casting techniques, and redesigning the learner experience within the University Virtual Learning (VLE) to improve functionality and usability.
