Background to the challenge

This partnership provides learners with invaluable benefits, from enhancing their CVs to receiving mentorship and insights from industry experts. The Enterprise Challenge offers hands-on experience, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical skills. It’s a privilege to be part of a project that helps shape future careers and drive sustainable innovation,” said Niamh O’Hora, Education Partner with the Enterprise Academy who has been steering the Enterprise Challenge module.

Working with Dr. Lesley Murphy and Dr. Ciarán O'Carroll, two partner schools were identified in the School of Marketing and Entrepreneurship and the School of Management, People and Organisations and their common Business Sustainability module, emerged as the ideal choice. Through the Enterprise Academy's efforts, the necessary connections were established, leading to the launch of the Huawei Enterprise Challenge.

This challenge has put a spring in my step! I have really enjoyed collaborating with my colleague Ciarán O’Carroll, representatives in Huawei and the Enterprise Academy team to create a real world challenge for our students to learn from and I think it’s a lovely example of us working at the intersection of theory and practice to create work ready graduates.

The Enterprise Academy is a brilliant vehicle for TU Dublin to develop and deepen industry partnerships. What encourages me is that our students will now be hitting the workplace with a greater understanding of sustainability issues within industries / organisations and how selling organisations such as Huawei can provide value added solutions.
