Guest Lecture: Inclusive 3rd Level Education for People with an Intellectual Disability
A guest lecture by Hugo MacNeill on "Inclusive 3rd Level Education for People with an Intellectual Disability" will take place on Monday 8th Jan 2024 at 11am in TU Dublin Tallaght Campus.
Hugo MacNeill OBE is a past international rugby player and former director of Goldman Sachs. More recently, Hugo continues to be a strong advocate for people with an intellectual disability in 3rd level education and in employment.
The lecture is free but booking is essential.
Hugo's lecture will focus on his experiences working with Trinity's Centre for People with Intellectual Disability (TCPID) and the benefits of employing graduates with intellectual disability in enterprise. Trinity's programme has become one of the leading models in Europe and has transformed the lives of many young people and their families.
Recognising the enormous potential of this programme, and others like it, Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS) Simon Harris recently announced funding to expand the nation's provision of such programmes.
The Trinity team are very keen to support others in the roll out of similar models across the country.
The event is free, but booking is essential, and is hosted by TU Dublin's Enterprise Academy, School of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Sciences and the School of Social Sciences, Law and Education.
The Enterprise Academy is funded under Pillar III of the Human Capital Initiative - Innovation and Agility, by the Higher Education Authority.
