Eddie O'Sullivan, trailblazer in Irish rugby coaching, former Head Coach to the Irish Men’s Rugby Team and former international player, educator and technical advisor at Brown University's Men's Rugby was guest lecturer today on the Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Analytics, Technology and Innovation at Technological University Dublin!
We were delighted to welcome Eddie to TU Dublin - School of Biological, Health and Sports Sciences to share his expertise and insights on sports technology and data; the effects digital innovation has had on coaching and on team and individual performance goal setting, in terms of KPIs; understanding skills metrics; and the importance of having access to dependable, objective skills data and knowing which data is relevant.
Participants on the Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Analytics, Technology and Innovation include leaders and industry professionals from organisations like Flutter Entertainment Plc, Stats Perform, Football Association of Ireland, World Rugby, Epic Global, and Badminton Ireland. Learners include developers, analysts, former athletes, sports managers, sports administrators and tech entrepreneurs – all of whom wish to further their knowledge of sports technology / analytics and network with other professionals in other areas.
The programme tackles the key challenges in: Digital Transformation, Revolutionising the business of sport; Sports Data for Performance, Leveraging data-driven insights; Harnessing Sports Technology and maximising innovation’s impact.
Launched in April 2024, this programme is the first of its kind in Ireland and is the result of a strategic collaboration between Technology Ireland DIGITAL Skillnet, SportsTech Ireland, TU Dublin Enterprise Academy and Technological University Dublin.
