Module Overview: The aim of this module is to introduce the student to the Structure and Function of the Human Body through the study of anatomy, histology and physiology.  To familiarise the student with the structure and function of normal tissues in the body and to introduce selected organ systems.

This module introduces the student to the 4 histological tissues of the body and to how these are organised to form the organs and systems of the body.  This module will provide the prior knowledge required for the study of physiology and pathology of these tissues.

Histology of the 4 body tissues.

Homeostasis and the role of each organ system in the maintenance of health.

The structure and function of the Cardiovascular, Digestive, Pulmonary, Renal, Integument and Nervous Systems.

An Introduction to pathophysiology in each organ system with some clinical examples.
