The Exceptional Circumstances Fund
Over the years, thanks to your generosity, we have raised almost €100,000 to support our students facing unexpected and extreme financial challenges.
As you know, access to education changes lives and our students may occasionally find themselves in difficult financial situations that creates a barrier to their studies, ones which require immediate assistance.
See how your support makes a difference
This fund helps students whose needs go beyond the aid available elsewhere, providing direct support to those experiencing extreme and immediate financial difficulty. It is open to the entire student body, including our apprentices and international students, across all our campuses. Applications are reviewed by a panel of TU Dublin staff members, chaired by the Head of Student Support and Wellbeing, and including representatives from the Students' Union.
Donate now
You can make an online donation now or if you wish to make a more regular donation you can set up a standing order through your bank. View information on how to set up a standing order.
TU Dublin Staff Payroll Giving
We are delighted to now offer Payroll Giving, meaning TU Dublin staff members can have a contribution deducted directly from their salary. Find out how to set up your monthly contribution.
Tax Efficient Donations
TU Dublin Foundation is an eligible charity and can reclaim the tax paid on donations of €250 or above in a tax year, giving even greater impact on what you give. Just €21 a month could result in a total donation of €424 for the appeal, with tax relief added after twelve months.
Every euro raised will count and every euro will go towards supporting our students. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any queries: foundation@tudublin.ie.
Thank You
Between 2020 and 2022, thanks to the generosity of donors to the previously titled Student Support Fund, TU Dublin Foundation awarded grants to 12 deserving projects. Funding decisions were made by a panel chaired by the Registrar and Deputy President, Dr. Mary Meaney. These initiatives responded to the social, emotional, financial and educational needs of students and challenges of the Covid 19 pandemic. Read about the Student Support Fund Projects.
Thank you to all those who contributed the fund.
