This programme focuses on engineering software and the interfacing of engineering and computing. Graduates with an in-depth background in this rapidly advancing field are well placed for rewarding careers at the interface of engineering and computing, and to be at the forefront of developing Internet of Things (IOT) systems. You’ll develop the skills you need to work in all aspects of the ICT industry, including software design, information technology, telecommunications, and computer network engineering. You’ll combine expertise in electronic engineering with advanced knowledge of computer hardware and software, and be able to apply your skills to the design of systems ranging from the embedded microprocessors in modern mobile devices to high-performance computing. You’ll develop your design skills using industry-standard programming languages, operating systems and applications. You’ll also study specialist units on topics such as digital communication systems, computational intelligence and embedded computing design. Overall, you’ll spend around 60% of your time working with advanced equipment and engineering software systems in our laboratories.
A graduate in B.Eng in Engineering Software will be able to understand, program, and test complex electronic hardware and software systems; assist in developing and using software for various functions, including improving product design, and usually works with teams of other professionals.
