Additional Requirements

You need to (a) complete an aptitude test and interview (b) undergo screening and (c) attend company interviews.

All applicants must attend an aptitude test in March/April (date TBC). Applicants who achieve the required score (at least 50 marks out of 100) in this aptitude test will subsequently be invited to attend an interview in April/May (date TBC). Applicants called for interview must achieve at least 50 marks out of 100 for their interview. Following the interview process, each applicant’s total score must be equal to or greater than 120 marks out of 200. This total score given will be added to Leaving Certificate points (if applicable).

This Learn and Work course will help you get the training and experience you need for the many career opportunities in the ICT and Networking field.

An innovative programme, it combines training at TU Dublin, Blanchardstown with blocks of paid work placement. This work experience gives you the chance to apply your learning, be coached by industry experts and develop the work-ready skills you need to gain employment. You’ll gain skills in Computer Systems, Network Engineering, Infrastructure, Networking, Virtualisation, Operating Systems, IT Security and Project Management.

Work Placement: Each year of the programme, you’ll do five months’ full-time study, followed by seven months of paid work placement with an employer, while attending one day a week at TU Dublin.

Professional Accreditation: You can also avail of the opportunity to gain Industry Certified Awards, including CompTIA A+; Linux Professional Institute (LPIC-1); Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician; VMWare Certified Associate – Cloud (VCA-Cloud); Cisco Certified Networking Associate; CompTIA Security+, and Microsoft Certified Systems Expert Server Infrastructure (MCSE).

Further Study: On successful completion, you’re eligible for year three of the Bachelor of Science in Computing in Digital Forensics and Cyber Security at TU Dublin.
