Do you question accepted approaches to cybersecurity, or wonder how a network intruder or hacker behaves? Digital information technology has transformed how organisations do business, but criminal elements seek to access personal and corporate data using IT vulnerabilities and through anonymous remote access. Information security is thus essential to minimise the risk to corporate data and to protect company reputation.

This programme will provide you with an all-round perspective on information security risk and risk management, with more advanced specialisation in your fourth year. Subjects covered range from the basics of Programming, Networking, Web Development and Databases to Advanced Programming, IT Business Management, Computer and Network Forensics, Secure Programming and Communications, Network Security, Mobile Device Forensics, Business Continuity Management and Cloud Security. Graduates are in high demand in all parts of the IT sector, as security is one of the fastest-growing parts of the industry.

Postgraduate Study: On graduation, you may continue to postgradute study at TU Dublin or elsewhere.

The course initially appealed to me because it included my favourite topic, mathematics, and because it has a wide variety of modules to give students a taste of everything, Being biased, I believe this is the best course. You never stop learning as there are always new technologies evolving and it is an industry that has a huge demand for graduates.
