“I chose this course as it offers students a broad and very diverse range of subjects ranging from accounting, marketing, sales, supply chain management and HR. What is an extremely beneficial aspect of this course is that you don’t ever have to choose a stream to specialise in. Every year you have the option to mix and match, there are plenty of optional modules available to suit each individual’s preferences. The class sizes are small, which enables you to interact with lecturers and fellow peers.
The group thesis also allows you to learn vital skills such as leadership, communication and collaboration skills that will stand to you in future projects. If you are someone who is unsure as to what career path you would like to pursue in the future, this course gives you a great opportunity to leave college with a foundation in various aspects of business and doesn’t restrict your career options to any particular industry.”

“I felt the BBS course offered a lot of choice and variety, allowing students to focus on areas of interest and to take modules focused on a desired career path. I liked the fact there was an emphasis on group work, which I found in my job hunting to be extremely important to employers. There is also a good balance between time dedicated to lectures and time to work on projects, with all lecturers being very approachable when advice was needed. Since graduating I have secured a job in banking with the option of taking professional exams to further progress my career”.
Ian Gorman
“I would definitely recommend the Bachelor of Business Studies in TU Dublin. The course is broad and offers multiple module options. Whether you like marketing, management or finance there is a wide variety to choose from. There is a great emphasis on group work in this course, which is extremely advantageous in preparing an individual for the corporate world. The lecturers are so helpful and supportive, especially in final year, I found them extremely understanding. Having a smaller class size compared to other business courses allows for more interaction with the lecturers which I found very beneficial when coming up to exams. I found employment within the first three months of graduating within the financial services sector, I am currently undertaking professional body exams to enhance my career opportunities.''
Jennifer Lyons
“I would highly recommend the BBS course to anyone thinking of a career in Business. It exposes you to many important aspects of a business and does this in a very practical way. In TU Dublin, there is a strong focus on teamwork, which is excellent in preparing you for business situations when you start your career. The support you get throughout the course is fantastic and there is always someone to answer your questions and give you advice on career options.
Upon graduating from the BBS I applied for IBEC’s Export Orientation Graduate Programme and I am now a brand ambassador for Jim Beam’s Irish portfolio in Boston. I am gaining valuable international experience, launching new products in the marketplace, whilst also completing a Postgraduate Diploma in International Business Development through TU Dublin. I know that without the foundations from the BBS course I would not have been offered this placement. I have been able to bring what I have learned in TU Dublin and couple it with my experience. It has opened a lot of doors for me and really has given me the best start to my career”.
Mairead Heavey
“I chose to complete the BBS due to its diverse nature. There are clear streams in which you can specialize but you also gain a broad knowledge of accountancy, e-business, international culture and consumer behavior. I now work for Jameson on their international brand ambassador program. One module which links clearly to my current job is International Business Management. The real life scenarios introduced on this module really bring the theory to life and help you come to terms with the complexities of working with a multinational company. I would highly recommend the BBS programme to anybody who wants to develop a broad well rounded base from which to begin their career”.
