BSc Business and Management (TU903) is the largest undergraduate Level 8 business degree in the College of Business at TU Dublin.

The first two years are designed to provide a solid foundation in the fundamental disciplines in business – accounting, economics, quantitative methods, management, marketing, human resources and operations. This approach allows students to get a taste of the different aspects of business in the first half of their degree. Using the core knowledge acquired in the first two years of study, in Years 3 and 4 students can choose from a wide range of optional advanced modules allowing them to specialise in one of the major business disciplines.

While Business and Management is the largest business degree in TU Dublin, lectures and tutorials are delivered in small class sizes to facilitate greater interaction and active learning. A diverse range of teaching approaches are adopted including formal lectures with tutorial support, business case-study analysis, debates, role play, industry project work, charity events, simulation exercises, networking events and in-company internship. Of particular note is the opportunity for students to take part in both national and international business strategy case study competitions in the final year of the course.

Study Abroad Opportunities

In Year 3 all students have the opportunity to study abroad for the entire year in one of our more than 50 partner universities around the world.

Work Placement

In Year 3 students have the opportunity to complete a 16-20-week paid work placement. Placement partners include leading companies in all the key business sectors, including accounting, financial services, pharmaceutical, retail, information and communications technologies and consultancy.

Professional Accreditation

TU903 Business and Management is recognised by the professional accounting bodies - Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and exemptions are available from these bodies for graduates who pursue the specialist accounting stream.
