This four-year programme will prepare you for middle-level responsibility in an accounting environment. You don’t need to have studied any Leaving Certificate Accounting, Business or Economics subjects. We start at an introductory level, which will prepare you for the more complex concepts in the programme you’ll meet at a later stage.
Subjects include financial accounting, IT, business maths, business law, economics, marketing, international financial reporting, company law, organisational psychology, taxation, business in the digital age and investment analysis. In Year 4, you’ll go deeper into international financial reporting, taxation, management accounting, corporate finance, etc., and study areas such as international corporate finance and strategy formulation and implementation.

As you progress, you build up credits and exemptions that are recognised nationally and internationally. You can receive the maximum exemptions available to a Level 8 graduate from the examinations of professional accountancy bodies, including Chartered Accountants Ireland, ACCA, CIMA, and the Irish Institute of Tax and CPA. After three years, you’ll have obtained 7 ACCA exemptions, and after four years 9 ACCA exemptions, along with exemptions from CAP1 of the Chartered Accounting (ICAI) examination. For full details on exemptions, visit our website.

Should your circumstances change, you can postpone your studies or continue them part-time in the evening, or you can exit the programme at Level 6 (Higher Certificate in Business & Accounting) or Level 7 (Bachelor of Business in Accounting & Finance).

Small classes, excellent lecturers and a well-balanced course structure combine to create a high-quality learning environment delivering content relevant to professional employer demands. Lecturers are extremely approachable and supportive, which fosters an environment in which students can reach their full potential and accelerate their professional career. I would highly recommend the course to all those who are interested in accounting and aiming to undertake professional accounting exams.
This course prepares each individual student for the workplace, by giving particular attention to the skills that they would need to become a successful accountant. The lecturers are approachable and take time out of their day to help any students with any queries they may have. The content of the course aligns with the professional accounting bodies and in turn this gives a greater degree of preparation than most other accounting courses.
At final year level, the lecturers are involved in preparing every student for the workplace before they complete the course in May, and are always on hand to offer advice when needed.
