The course has been designed by a team of Project Management experts to meet the current and future needs of organisations in dealing with Project, Programme and Portfolio management initiatives.

The course is suited to high-potential applicants from all industry sectors who wish to develop their capabilities in the field of project management. The course is open to experienced project managers who will normally have a minimum of five years professional work experience in project management or a related discipline.

Employers’ preference is to recruit project managers with academic qualifications and industry certification. The TU Dublin MSc Project Management is unique in addressing this challenge. The modules are closely aligned to internationally recognised certifications including CAPM®, PMP®, Microsoft Project PRINCE2® and Agile Project Management. It consists of four taught semesters and an individual consultancy project which is normally undertaken in each participant’s own company.

This course is delivered at our city centre campus in central Dublin. It is designed to allow busy professionals to combine work and study through its block delivery format normally over two days per month.

Honours degree (level 8 award on the NQF) or equivalent from a recognized awarding body or an equivalent professional qualification at grade 2.2 or above.

Applicants require a minimum of five years relevant business experience.

This course is suitable for people working in project management in a variety of different environments and from a variety of backgrounds. Applicants who do not meet the minimal entry requirements may be considered for entry by the Exceptional Entry sub-committee.

A minimum of 6.5 on IELTS for those whom English is not their first language.

Non EU applicants must have documentary proof of Irish residency or an Irish work permit to be eligible to apply. It is the responsibility of the candidate to maintain such eligibility across the life cycle of the programme.

Note: Due to the considerable competition for our postgraduate courses satisfying the minimum entry requirements is not a guarantee of a place. Depending on the course of study applications will be assessed on their academic grades and work/life experience may also be considered. Applicants may also be required to attend for interview for specific courses.

Non-EU Students

Non-EU students, not resident in Ireland, may only apply for part-time programs that are exclusively offered online, applications for courses that require on-campus attendance will not be processed and the application fee will not be refunded.  Applications for exclusively online courses can be made under the following guidelines:

  1. Standard Part-Time Rate: Non-EU students can apply and pay tuition fees at the standard part-time rate for the chosen program.
  2. No Student Visa Required: Non-EU students applying for 100% online part-time courses do not require a student visa for Ireland.
  3. No Residency Status Needed: Applicants do not need to possess any residency status in Ireland to be eligible for online programs as there is no requirement to travel to Ireland.
