The hospitality industry is a major worldwide industry. It is dynamic, competitive, fast growing and international in nature. It is wide-ranging, covering everything from deluxe hotels, restaurants and designer bars, to catering operations and nightclubs. The MSc in Hospitality Management is designed to provide participants with the expert knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career at senior management level in any sector of this vibrant industry. This course is aimed at students with a variety of academic and professional backgrounds.

This globally recognised hospitality programme is one of TU Dublin's most sought after programmes. It is the first and only course of its kind in the Republic of Ireland and provides participants with a top-level educational package that is delivered by leading academics and experts from the national and international hospitality sector. The programme covers all aspects of the hospitality industry with a business based curriculum that is designed to equip participants with the management skills and analytic capabilities necessary to obtain careers in a wide range of organisational settings.

Applicants should possess a bachelor degree at honours level (2.2 grade or higher) or equivalent. In addition, applicants may be required to complete an admission interview.

If English is not your first language you will need to provide evidence of your English language proficiency as detailed on our website. Applicants for this course should have a minimum IELTS (Academic Version) English Proficiency of 6.5 overall (or equivalent) with nothing less than 6 in each component.

Note: Due to the considerable competition for our postgraduate courses satisfying the minimum entry requirement is not a guarantee of a place. Depending on the course of study applications will be assessed based on candidates? academic grades and may also take into account applicants? work/life experience. TU Dublin recognises both REL and RPL. Applicants may also be required to attend for interview for specific courses.

This Masters Degree opens the door to excellent employment opportunities and accelerated promotion within a wide range of organisational roles. Graduates are particularly well placed to find rewarding careers in managerial positions within the hospitality industry. Graduates have also gone on to work in consulting, tourism, events, marketing, revenue management, teaching and lecturing or have started their own businesses. 

The course involves six taught modules plus a dissertation in the area of Hospitality Management.

Hospitality Management Modules:

  • Strategic Revenue Management Solutions
  • Dissertation (including Research Methods)

Core Modules:

  • Managerial Finance & Entrepreneurialism
  • The Effective Manager
  • Emerging Industry Issues
  • Strategic Marketing & Digital Commerce

Completion in two years by taking three modules per academic year for two years plus the dissertation in the second year.

Non-EU Students

Non-EU students, not resident in Ireland, are not eligible to apply for part time programs that are delivered on-campus. Applications for part time courses that require on-campus attendance will not be processed and the application fee will not be refunded.
