Course Title: Higher Certificate in Business in Real Estate (Valuation, Sale and Management)
The Higher Certificate in Business in Real Estate (Valuation, Sales and Management) is a level 6 award (120 ECTS) on the National Framework of Qualifications developed in collaboration with the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers and is approved by the Property Services Regulatory Authority for licensing purposes. It is a challenging two year course that covers issues relating to the valuation, sale and management of residential property.
Applicants should have achieved a minimum of at least grade O6 or H7 in 5 subjects. The subjects must include Maths and either English or Irish. The level of English required if English is not the applicants first language is IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. Applicants who do not meet the minimum standard of education, as required above will be assessed on previous qualifications and work experience.
Applicants who have achieved learning outside the formal education or training systems may also apply for the course and their application will be assessed under the accredited prior experiential learning process. This process recognises that knowledge is gained through life, work and study and not formally attested through formal certification. Self-Employment
The number one outcome for graduates of the course is that they progress directly to self-employment as property service providers – estate agents, letting agents, property managers.
Employment
While many of the applicants for the part time route may already be employed in various roles within the profession, successful graduates can expect to obtain employment across a range of occupations within the real estate sector. These include valuation, management, marketing and sales and administrative positions in public and private organisations.

Semester 2
There is a mix of online learning and classroom based learning. Classroom lectures will be held on selected Saturdays through the academic year, commencing at 9.30am and finishing at 4.30pm (times subject to change) and there will also be online lectures throughout the academic year.
