The BEng (Hons) Degree in Electronic Engineering is a strong technically focused programme targeted at producing graduate design engineers specialising in defining system architecture, electronic system design and solving engineering problems. Students gain expertise in hardware and software design across a wide range of areas from communications to software. The student will learn to work as part of a team while developing strong technical and design skills.

In a world where electrical and electronic engineering empowers the way we live, and is inextricably linked to almost everything we do, where does Electronic Engineering fit? This video offers some context…

This course is a part time Add-On programme to the Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Engineering. Applicants need to hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Engineering or an equivalent qualification. All applicants must have competence in spoken and written English.

Graduates can work in areas such as semiconductor technology, process engineering, wireless networks, sustainable energy, and programming. Electronic Engineers are employed in technical roles in the IT industry designing high speed data equipment as well as coding.

This course provides you with the skills necessary to work in all aspects of the ICT industry including electronics, information technology, telecommunications, and computer network engineering, while also offering the graduate an option of progressing to an Honours Degree programme. The course focuses on hardware and data communications design. Students spend approximately 60% of their time working with advanced equipment and software in our laboratories.

Depending on the class numbers, the course runs two evening per week from 6pm-10pm. Alternatively, students may attend appropriate modules with full-time classes each week.
