This course is eligible for 50% funding through the HCI Micro-Credential Course Learner Subsidy. Please refer to the fees and how to apply sections for specific details and eligibility criteria.

This module aims to provide learners with a fundamental theoretical knowledge of wine regions and wine styles from around the world. It introduces the skills and knowledge required to marry food and beverages. The module also introduces learners to the practical critical evaluation of wines through tasting and assessment. Wine production, wine service, storage and wine lists are also covered.

Applicants should hold:

  • A Leaving Certificate with minimum grades in Maths O6/H7; English or Irish O6/H7)

OR

  • A full QQI Level 5 or 6 award

OR

  • Meet TU Dublin assessment criteria for mature entry

3 contact hours per week, plus self directed learning.
