Undergraduate Applications

We are delighted that you are considering applying to TU Dublin. You can view our full range of undergraduate courses via our Find a Course page. Before applying, please read this page for advice and guidelines on making an application. 

 

EU Applicants should apply for their preferred course via the CAO. Please visit our CAO Hub for information on how to make an application.

Eligibility Criteria for Applying to the International Admissions Office

Apply through the International Admissions Office if you meet either/or of these criteria:

  • You hold EU Nationality, but you have not lived in an EU country for 3 of the last 5 years
  • You have not attended 5 years primary/secondary education in an EU country. You hold Non-EU Nationality and you live in a Non-EU country.

How to Apply

Applications are processed through our CRM Recruit system. There is a €50 non-refundable application fee.

International applicants apply online through the application link on the relevant course page. Course pages include information on application timelines, key dates, and minimum entry requirements. The closing date for courses starting in September 2025 is Friday 27 June 2025. Note that application deadlines may vary by course, and some courses may close early if they reach capacity.

  • Degree/Date of completion (Both original language & translated)
  • Proof of English Proficiency/Date of Exam

Application Assessment

We review each application individually and will notify you via our online application system once a decision has been made. If your application is successful, you will receive one of the following offers:

  • Conditional Offer: You will be able to study your chosen programme if you meet the programme entry requirement as per the course page and/or meet the English language requirements.
  • Firm Offer: You will be able to study without any further requirements or conditions.

Further Information

  • Applications not fully completed will automatically be rejected.
  • Conditional Offers will be issued by email ONLY.
  • Outstanding documents must be submitted as soon as they are received.
  • If you have applied using an agent, please contact your agent with any queries you may have regarding your application.
  • This office is closed at weekends as well as public and University holidays which may differ from your home country.
  • A minimum payment of 50% of tuition fee is required to guarantee your place.
  • Payment can take up to 5 working days for the money to reach our account.
  • It can take up to 12 weeks for your visa to be processed.
  • Applicants must be 18 before 31st December (September Start programmes) or 31st May (January Start programmes). If under 18 at the time of arrival, the student will need to stay in homestay accommodation until they are 18 years old and they will need to bring parental consent to give their fingerprints to INIS.

Eligibility Criteria for Applying to the Central Applications Office (CAO)

Apply through the CAO if you fully meet one of the following criteria:

  1. You are currently living in Ireland and are sitting the Irish Leaving Certificate or studying for a QQI FET award, regardless of your Nationality/residency status.
  2. You hold EU Nationality/EU Passport
    AND
    a) You are living in an EU country 3 of the last 5 years
    OR 
    b) You have attended at least 5 years primary/secondary education in an EU country.
  3. You hold Non-EU Nationality but you are living in Ireland for 3 of the last 5 years
    OR
    You are under 23 living with your parents who are working and paying tax in Ireland for 3 of the last 5 years.

Research our Courses
12-16 months before making application
Identify courses that match your interests and goals. Explore the available courses at TU Dublin.
Prepare for your Standardised Tests
9-12 months before making application
If English is not your first language and you haven't completed a language proficiency test (like IELTS, Duolingo, or TOEFL) in the past 2 years, we recommend scheduling and preparing for one of these tests. However, you can still submit your application to TU Dublin without having the English test results yet. Learn more about TU Dublin’s English language requirements.
Gather your Required Documents
9-12 months before making an application
You will need to provide the following documents: passport, academic transcripts, grading scale, degree or completion certificate, proof of English proficiency (if you have completed the test within the last two years), and an up-to-date CV. Ensure all documents are translated into English if required and meet the specific requirements outlined by TU Dublin. If you do not have all the required documents, feel free to submit your application and upload them at a later stage. Please refer to the individual course pages for specific course entry requirements.
Submit your Application
9-10 months before course commencement date
Apply through the TU Dublin Online Application System, accessible on each course page. Please click on the Apply Now in the Top hand right hand corner.
Apply for your Student Visa
As soon as you make an application
Ensure you have your offer letter from TU Dublin. Prepare financial documents and proof of accommodation. Find out about Visa application details.
Arrange your Accommodation
As soon as you receive an offer

Prepare for your Departure
1-2 months before
