Undergraduate & Postgraduate Courses commencing September 2025
We are excited to share an update regarding our application process, designed to streamline your experience as we transition to a new system. For courses beginning in September 2025, applications will be processed through our new CRM Recruit system. Please note there is a €50 application fee for courses starting in September 2025. Please note that this is a non-refundable application fee.
All international applicants can apply online directly to TU Dublin through the relevant course page, which provides application timelines, key dates, and minimum entry requirements for each course. For courses starting in January 2025, please visit the specific course page on our website to begin your application. Ensure your application is completed and submitted by the closing date of Friday 27 June 2025 for the September 2025 intake. Note that application deadlines may vary by course, and some courses may close early if they reach capacity.

Entry requirements vary depending on the course and are detailed on individual course pages. We accept a wide range of qualifications from universities around the world. For guidance on our international requirements visit your country page in the below links:
English Language Requirements
Applicants from outside of Ireland will usually need to meet specific English Language Requirements to study at TU Dublin.
Application Assessment
We assess each application very carefully and will contact you via our online application system when we’ve decided on your application. If your application is successful, we’ll make you an offer of a place. This offer will be either a:
- Conditional Offer: You will be able to study your chosen programme if you meet the programme entry requirement as per the course page and/or meet the English language requirements.
- Unconditional Offer: You will be able to study without any further requirements or conditions.
Apply through the Central Applications Office (CAO) if you fully meet one of the following criteria:
- You are currently living in Ireland and are sitting the Irish Leaving Certificate or studying for a QQI FET award, regardless of your Nationality/residency status.
- You hold EU Nationality/EU Passport
AND
a) You are living in an EU country 3 of the last 5 years
OR
b) You have attended at least 5 years primary/secondary education in an EU country. - You hold Non-EU Nationality but you are living in Ireland for 3 of the last 5 years
OR
You are under 23 living with your parents who are working and paying tax in Ireland for 3 of the last 5 years.
Apply through the International Office at How to Apply if you meet either of these criteria:
- You hold EU Nationality, but you have not lived in an EU country for 3 of the last 5 years
AND
You have not attended 5 years primary/secondary education in an EU country. - You hold Non-EU Nationality and you live in a Non-EU country.

What is Advanced Entry?
If an applicant already holds certified educational achievements and/or work experience in a relevant field, it may be possible to apply for entry to the second or subsequent year of a course. This process is known as an “Advanced Entry” application.
The number of Advanced Entry places differs from year to year, and the option for advance entry will depend on the availability of places. Advanced Entry is not permitted on all courses and individual course pages will outline if it is an option. Please note that Advanced Entry onto a course is not guaranteed.
Closing Date
The closing date for advanced entry applications is usually 12th July, however some popular courses may close earlier due to high demand.
How to Apply
International Applicants must apply directly to TU Dublin. Apply via the Non-EU International Button on the relevant course webpage, ensuring to upload your most up to date and all other relevant supporting documentation including detailed exam results, transcripts and details of relevant work experience, cv etc. Failure to supply supporting documentation may result in your application being rejected.
Advanced Entry applications are assessed on the basis of certified results and submission of all relevant supporting documentation. Supporting documentation would typically include the following:
- Examination Transcripts from previous Higher Education
- A CV with information about relevant previous experience with references
- A statement of interest
English Language Requirements
Please note that Instruction for all courses at TU Dublin is through English. English language proficiency is required for all undergraduate courses at the University. If English is not an applicant’s first language, such applicants must present one of the English Language qualifications as listed on our website as evidence of competence. Applicants presenting third-level qualifications from outside of Ireland must apply and have confirmed by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) how their third-level qualification compares to Irish qualifications on the NFQ. This service is free of charge and is an advisory service on foreign qualifications. See www.qqi.ie.
- Applications will open the week commencing 6 November 2023.
- Applications not fully completed will automatically be rejected.
- Conditional Offers will be issued by email ONLY.
- Outstanding documents must be submitted as soon as they are received.
- If you have applied using an Agent, please contact your Agent with any queries you may have regarding your application.
- This office is closed at weekends as well as public and University holidays which may differ from your home country.
- A minimum payment of 50% of tuition fee is required to guarantee your place.
- Payment can take up to 5 working days for the money to reach our account.
- Applicants should be prepared be in Dublin early in September as classes will begin 19th September.
- It can take up to 12 weeks for your visa to be processed.
- Applicants must be 18 before 31st December (September Start programmes) or 31st May (January Start programmes). If under 18 at the time of arrival, the student will need to stay in homestay accommodation until they are 18 years old and they will need to bring parental consent to give their fingerprints to INIS.
- Non-EU applicants must have a current valid EU visa in order to be eligible for part time study.

To qualify for the EU Rate of Fees, you must meet ONE of the following criteria:
- You are ordinarily resident in the EU and have received full-time post primary education in the EU for 3 of the 5 years immediately preceding admission OR
- You are ordinarily resident in the EU and have worked full-time in the EU for 3 of the 5 years immediately preceding admission OR
- You hold a passport from an EU state and have received full-time education in the EU for 3 of the 5 years immediately preceding admission.
Note: The period that Non-EU students are resident in Ireland on Study Visas does not contribute towards the residency requirement in relation to fee assessment at TU Dublin.
