The International Political Economy through the Lens of Geoeconomics and Geopolitics

The International Political Economy through the Lens of Geoeconomics and Geopolitics

This project takes a multidisciplinary approach that emerges as essential to help better understand the complex dynamics of the global economy, diplomacy, the evolving geopolitical landscape, and their association. This comprehensive framework addresses the multifaceted impacts of globalisation, diplomatic negotiations, supranational influences, power transitions, and the rise of populism while exploring the implications of conflict, global security, and disruptive change through the lens of the international political economy. The drivers of disruptive change and the challenges they pose need to be considered from a holistic perspective, including the industrial sector and the economic and political systems. Emerging challenges require a comprehensive understanding of how globalisation magnifies and transmits conflict and instability, shaping global security in the 21st century. Additionally, there is a need to examine the complex interplay between diplomacy, supranational influences, and development and how these factors impact global order. The crucial role of business leaders in managing global instability and addressing economic potential amidst these evolving challenges requires research contributions. Some of the themes to be considered but not limited to are as follows,

  1. History of the International Political Economy
  2. Globalisation and the Global Economy
  3. Multilateralism, Crises and New Governance and Distributive Economic Models
  4. The Rise of Populism and Economic Implications
  5. Conflict, Instability, and Global Security
  6. Adapting to Disruptive Change
