Engagement and Impact
TU Dublin research involves communication, engagement, and knowledge exchange and co-creation with the wider community and society, which is crucial to maximising its societal impact.
With significant expertise in knowledge brokerage, research engagement (including engaged research), and societal impact, the Research Engagement & Impact Office offers you the encouragement and support to engage with stakeholders and increase your research impact.
The Research Engagement and Impact Office supports TU Dublin staff who are interested in research to:
- Develop research engagement and engaged research as a core part of your practice, and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders on projects for societal benefit. See our new TU Dublin Research Engagement Framework for ideas, guidance and useful references to support you in this work.
- Raise your profile in this area, with the potential to secure mission driven research funding.
- Improve dialogue with the public relating to your research and its impact, including influencing policy makers to effect meaningful change.
- Plan for impact, for grant applications, and for realising impact across the lifecycle of your research project. Discover our comprehensive Research Impact Framework, designed to guide you through every stage of achieving meaningful impact.
- Promote and communicate your research outputs to stakeholders demonstrating the positive impact of your research.
We support community, statutory and industry partners to make connections with TU Dublin researchers for engaged research to address societal challenges and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
As an office we are committed to providing excellent supports to our colleagues involved in research, and have drawn up a set of guiding principles by which we operate. You can find them here: Principles - Service level agreement.
