The Radiation and Environmental Science Centre (RESC) is a research centre in Technological University Dublin.
Our mission is to address the UN Sustainable Development Goals by carrying out excellent research in the areas of disease screening, diagnosis and treatment; biophotonics and imaging; machine learning and data science; monitoring the effects of environmental contaminants and marine waste valorisation.
RESC comprises researchers from a range of interdisciplinary backgrounds and from three different Schools in TU Dublin – School of Physics, Clinical and Optometric Sciences, School of Biological, Health and Sport Sciences and School of Food Science and Environmental Health.
Our expertise and skills are in the following areas - radiobiology, therapeutics, biophysics, cellular and molecular biology, environmental toxicology, chemical analysis of contaminants, microscopy, spectroscopy, data science.
We are based in a 200 m2 laboratory in the Physical to Life Sciences Research Hub with facilities for cell culture, molecular biology, environmental toxicology, spectroscopy and microscopy.
Current funding is from Science Foundation Ireland, Irish Research Council, Higher Education Authority North South Research Programme
RESC has active collaborations with academic and clinical partners in Ireland, UK, Europe and US.
If you are interested in applying for funding for PhD or postdoctoral research in any areas of RESC research, please contact Prof. Fiona Lyng at fiona.lyng@tudublin.ie
