Amanda O’Farrell is a lecturer in the Department of Computing in TU Dublin – Tallaght campus. Amanda is actively involved in promoting gender balance awareness and has founded the #BecomeAnITGirl initiative, which organises events aimed at second level students to promote diversity in computing. Amanda is also a member of Computer Science Inclusive (CSINC), a volunteer group whose activities focus on improving the teaching and learning of Computer Science, through student camps and workshops, research, and second-level teacher CPD sessions. Amanda is also a member of INGENIC and WITU, groups which aim to increase female participation in Computer Science at third level.
Research/Practice Interests: Amanda is an early stage researcher/PHD candidate. Her research interest is in the area of gender diversity in Computer Science at second level.
