The National Optometry Centre (NOC) is part of the Department of Optometry in the College of Sciences and Health, Technological University Dublin. It is a purpose-built state-of-the-art centre for the advanced training of optometry students and is the only such facility of its kind in the country. We serve as a national resource for the entire community of eye care professionals in Ireland.

The main function of the NOC is to facilitate clinical training for TU Dublin Optometry students. For most of our eye examination appointments, the public are seen by a student who is supervised by an experienced member of clinical staff. In some of the specialist clinics, students work in pairs or small groups.

The Centre offers eye examinations, spectacles and contact lenses to the general public through the medical card (GMS) and optical benefit (PPS) schemes

The Centre is open all year round with a core staff of full-time optometrists and two dispensing opticians.
