Regulations

 

  • All library users must have their current TU Dublin University ID card and produce it when requested by a member of library staff. 
  • University ID cards may only be used by the person registered on the card. 
  • The person registered on the University ID card is responsible for all material borrowed on that card. 
  • All materials borrowed from the libraries must be returned by the due date and time. Borrowers with overdue material may not be allowed to borrow additional items, or renew other items, until such time as all overdue items are returned. Replacement costs may be charged on items not returned to the library or lost by library users.  
  • All persons attending TU Dublin Libraries are expected to behave responsibly and to treat others with dignity and respect. For example, noise must be kept to a minimum. 
  • All persons attending TU Dublin Libraries must observe and abide by the University Regulations, and not engage in any illegal, malicious or other activity. 
  • Library users causing a disturbance may be asked for their University ID card and asked to leave the library. 
  • Food is not to be consumed in the libraries. Hot and cold drinks are permitted in the libraries in keep cups/pull-up top bottles only. 
  • Users must not reserve reading/study spaces by leaving their belongings on tables or desks. 
  • Any online information resource licensed to TU Dublin Library Services must be used per the terms of the individual licence agreements, including in relation to sharing, copying, and printing. 
  • The University reserves the right to refuse admission to the libraries. 
  • Library users who breach any of the above regulations will be liable to a withdrawal of services and other disciplinary measures.
