Who should attend: Staff members who sit on TU Dublin Interview Boards for the selection of staff
This workshop will cover:
- Setting the scene - how to plan the panel interview structure
- The role of the Chair and that of other Board Members
- Creating a positive interview experience for the candidate
- The importance of clear and measurable criteria on the job description when shortlisting and interviewing
- The analysis and application of job assessment and selection criteria
- Identifying competency questions to test the competencies required within the job description
- The use of marking schemes
- Indicators of good and bad performance by candidates
- The importance of note taking
- Being aware of relevant and potential legislation, equality and discriminatory issues
- Being aware of managing unconscious bias - i.e.
- The tendency to over rely on the first impression the candidate makes
- The temptation to pick a clone of either the board member or the previous holder of the position
- Delivering post interview feedback
Those who successfully complete this Training Course will be awarded the Licence to Recruit at TU Dublin.
