A two and a half hour, in person session to introduce Carol Dweck’s theory of mindsets, with a focus on wellbeing, self-compassion and leading with a growth mindset. We will look the components of “fixed” and “growth” mindsets and think about the origins of each. Participants will be encouraged to explore when they are more likely to display each mindset, recognising that they exist on a spectrum – we do not go through life with a wholly fixed, or wholly growth mindset. We will think about the developmental origins of each mindset, focus on recognising thinking associated with each, and how we can redirect our thinking towards growth mindsets, that recognise our capability rather than our achievement.

The session will include time for discussion, and a self-coaching exercise and will link to our TU Dublin Staff Charter.
