Cycle to Work Scheme
TU Dublin’s Cycle to Work scheme is open all year round and is managed by Tax Free Commuter. If you wish to apply, you will require the following:
- Your TU Dublin email address
- Your staff number
Please log onto https://taxfreecommuter.com/TFC/employee_login.php.
You will be required to register as a new user. You will be asked for an Employer PIN when you register, the PIN is TUDublin. Once registered, please proceed with your online application.
Notes:
- There are now three limits, depending on the type of bicycle purchased: For Standard Bikes and related safety equipment the limit is €1,250. For Electric Bikes and related safety equipment the limit is €1,500. For Cargo Bikes and related safety equipment the limit is now €3,000.
- The scheme is available once every four years (five years prior to 1 August 2020). The tax year in which the bicycle is provided counts as the first year. For example, if you used the scheme during any month in 2016, you can use the scheme again from 1 January 2020.
- The University will deduct the cost of the bicycle from your gross salary or wage, on a monthly or weekly basis (as appropriate) over 12 months.
- All applicants will be required to confirm they have read and agree to the terms and conditions of the schemes which are available during the application process.
- The schemes are open to all whole-time/part-time salaried staff in the University who have a contract which is expected to last until at least 12 months after the first deduction from your salary. Unfortunately the University is not in a position to accommodate hourly-paid staff.
- Staff who wish to terminate their employment before the balance of their bicycle is paid will be required to pay the outstanding balance prior to cessation of employment.
- Once purchased, you will be liable for the full cost of the bicycle, no refunds will be available.
