Where are we located?

TU Dublin Blanchardstown is located in Dublin 15, about 10km northwest of Dublin City Centre. The campus is located approximately 20km from Maynooth Co. Kildare, 15km from Ashbourne Co. Meath and approximately 35km from Bray Co. Wicklow. Our Eircode is D15 YV78. Click here to view our location on Google Maps:

Parking on Campus

Paid parking is in operation on campus for both students and staff via pay and display or parking permit.

Parking Permits

Permits may be purchased online from APCOA and normally cost €80. Permits expire on 31st August.

Permits purchased after 1st January will cost €50 and will cover the period to August 31st 2020.

Pay & Display for Short Term Visitors 

Display a valid Pay & Display ticket is required to park in a P&D space.
P&D (€1 per hour or €5 per day - Both Coins and Pay by Text  available )

Important Information:

  • Clamping in operation between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Parking is free (in designated parking areas) outside of these times.
  • Cars parked in a Permit space must have a valid Parking Permit . However, if you park in a P&D space, you must display a valid P&D ticket.
  • Parking in disabled parking spaces is free at all times to vehicles displaying a valid Disabled Parking Badge.
  • Parking on our campus is on first-come basis.
  • NO RESERVED PARKING

Disabled Parking

Permits are not required for disabled spaces where the vehicle displays a current, valid disabled card.

TU Dublin is committed to sustainable travel. All users of the Campus are encouraged to bear this in mind when considering their travel options.

Shuttle Bus Service

A dedicated TU Dublin shuttle bus serves the university campus throughout the academic year. Thirteen round trips each day run from Coolmine train station, serving selected stops en route including Blanchardstown Shopping Centre where you can connect with Dublin Bus or Go Ahead services.

The shuttle costs €1 per trip or €5 for an unlimited weekly ticket, or you can use your Student Leap Card.  (Note: Leap Cards can now be topped up on the Shuttle Bus )

Our Shuttle Bus is free between the National Aquatic Centre and the university campus

Public Bus Routes

Dublin Bus

Dublin Bus operates a number of routes within the Blanchardstown area, serving the transport hub at the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre. From the shopping centre, our shuttle bus will take you directly to the Blanchardstown Campus.

Go-Ahead

A number of bus routes in Dublin are now operated by Go Ahead Ireland, on behalf of Transport for Ireland. The following routes serve the Blanchardstown area:

17a (from Blanchardstown to Kilbarrack) 

76a (from Tallaght to Liffey Valley/Blanchardstown)

236 (from Blanchardstown to Damastown IBM)

238 (from Lady’s Well Road to Tyrrelstown)

239 (from Blanchardstown SC to Liffey Valley SC)

Route 139

The 139 orbital bus route operates between Naas and Blanchardstown and connects TU Dublin – Blanchardstown Campus to Naas, Sallins, Clane, Rathcoffey, Maynooth, and Leixlip; the route also includes Blanchardstown Shopping Centre.

There are nine services each way, seven days a week, with first departures at 07:00 hrs and last departures at 22:30 hrs

Express Bus

Express Bus, a private bus company, operates a number of routes across Dublin and surrounding areas. A number of routes serve Blanchardstown directly. For details, visit the Express bus website

Bus Eireann operate a number of routes which serve Blanchardstown.

Travelling by Car

Travelling from M50 Southbound

Travelling Southbound on the M50 take Exit 6 for Blanchardstown/ Navan/ Cavan (N3). Follow the slip road and take N3 towards Navan/Cavan. Travel straight along N3 (through 2 sets of traffic lights) and take the second slip road for the Blanchardstown Town Centre.

At the top of the slip road, take a right (follow Institute of Technology road sign) and travel along this road to the next roundabout & take the 1st exit which is the entrance to the TU Dublin – Blanchardstown Campus.

From M50 Northbound

Travelling Northbound on the M50 take Exit 6 for Blanchardstown/ Navan/ Cavan (N3). Follow the slip road & take N3 towards Navan/Cavan. Travel straight along N3 (through 2 sets of traffic lights) and take the second slip road for the Blanchardstown Town Centre.

At the top of the slip road, take a right (follow Institute of Technology road sign) and travel along this road to the next roundabout & take the 1st exit which is the entrance to the TU Dublin – Blanchardstown Campus.

From Dublin City Centre

Head for the N3 (main Navan/Cavan road). The first roundabout you will come to is at the Halfway House Pub (on the right hand side). Go straight through the roundabout continuing on the N3. Travel straight along N3 through a set of traffic lights (Travelodge Hotel will be on the right hand side). The next roundabout is the M50 roundabout. Again go directly through, continuing on the N3. Travel straight along N3 (through 2 sets of traffic lights).

Take the second slip road for the Blanchardstown Town Centre. At the top of the slip road, take a right (follow Institute of Technology road sign) and travel along this road to the next roundabout & take the 1st exit which is the entrance to the TU Dublin – Blanchardstown Campus.

Travelling from the direction of Navan/Cavan

Travelling along the N3, take the slip road for the Blanchardstown Town Centre. When you reach the top of the slip road, turn right. Continue straight for a short distance and turn left (at the traffic lights) on to Blanchardstown Road North. Travel along this road for approx. 1 mile to the next roundabout & take the 1st exit which is the entrance to the TU Dublin – Blanchardstown Campus.

Travelling by train

The nearest train stations to the campus are Coolmine, Castleknock and Clonsilla, all located on the Dublin/Maynooth/Longford/M3 Parkway Route. For train timetables and routes, visit www.irishrail.ie.

Travelling by Bicycle

TU Dublin is committed to sustainable travel and promotes cycling as a viable travel option to both students and staff. There are a good network of cycle lanes on routes around Blanchardstown and Dublin 15. On campus, we provide covered bicycle parking facilities, shower and drying room facilities.
