Message from the Dean
Welcome to the new Faculty of Sciences and Health at TU Dublin.
Our Faculty, located on our Grangegorman and Tallaght campuses, is home to more than 4,500 students who are enrolled on a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programmes, including full-time and part-time courses, short CPD courses, industry-based programmes. The Faculty is also home to several hundred research students who are pursuing higher degrees across our wide range of scientific and health disciplines. A large number of our programmes are professionally recognised and accredited. Our taught programmes and our research activities are designed to respond to the needs of industry, community, the health professions, and wider society and to address the multiple global challenges that we face, including the challenges of sustainability and climate change. We believe that the proper understanding and conduct of science is crucial to the development of sustainable solutions to global and societal challenges and we are dedicated to developing scientific and technical knowledge and skills in our students and with our collaborators.
We are committed to providing an excellent experience for our students, staff and collaborators across all of our science and health disciplines. We believe that an innovative environment and real-world experience is an important part of higher education and we integrate significant work-based opportunities into our programmes in a wide variety of industrial, clinical, and other settings.
I invite you to explore the websites of the four Schools that comprise the Faculty of Sciences and Health and to learn about the educational, research, and collaboration opportunities that are available for you at TU Dublin.
Best wishes,
Professor John Doran
Dean, Faculty of Sciences and Health
