I am a chartered valuation surveyor and member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) with a degree in Science (UCD) and a Masters in Sustainable Development (TU Dublin).
I lecture, research and consult in the built environment around valuations, sustainability and collaborative projects. I am partnership and Engagement Co-ordinator for the School of Surveying. In this role I leverage the connections between the real estate sector and the university to enhance the student experience. I also co-ordinate work placement for the property economics students.
For the last four yeasts I have been a judge in the Irish Construction Excellence (ICE) Awards and last year joined the panel of judges for the inaugural SCSI Surveying Excellence Awards. I Chair the Sustainability Working Group (SWG) in the SCSI and am Chair, moderator and panellist on seminars, CPDs and panel discussions in the sustainability space.
I am board member of the Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA) since 2019 and will be on the board until 2027.
The most recent collaborative research project interrogated the volume of demolition and construction waste in the sector and it’s contribution to embodied carbon. This collaboration was with nine stakeholders including: the School of Architecture, School of Surveying, Demolition Takedown, Creative Ireland, N-TuTORR, RIAI, SCSI, IPUT and the IAF.
