Construction Management
Construction Management is overall planning, coordination, and control of a project from inception to completion aimed at meeting s client’s requirements in order to produce a functionally viable and sustainable project that will be completed safely, on time, within authorised cost and to the required quality standards. Construction Management at TU Dublin is designed for those who wish to make their careers in management in the construction industry. Through a combination of the active links with industry and the strong emphasis on project work throughout, we provide a sound general education in the different aspects of this field while remaining close to the practical needs of those who wish to develop a career in construction. We provide work-integrated learning opportunities and getting students out into the real world through site visits, industry talks and our work placement programme in third year.
Our courses are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), which is the worlds largest and most influential professional body for Construction Management and Leadership, which means that holders of this Degree will have full exemption from the educational requirements of Corporate Membership.
There are many career paths in the construction industry for students who graduate. Many of our previous graduates have undertaken roles as Construction Mangers on both the public and private sectors and with both large and small companies. Our graduates also work in areas of sustainability, conservation, project management and digital construction.
In additional to the traditional graduate roles, there is the option to undertake postgraduate courses at research institutes and universities worldwide.
