NZEB 2022 - Building Performance Symposium
WHY ATTEND
TU Dublin is hosting Building Performance Symposium 22 on 11th May to celebrate five years of serious upskilling by building design professionals through the various parts of MSc in Building Performance (Energy Efficiency in Design). It is of direct relevance to
- Those considering upskilling in super-low energy building design skills and knowledge,
- Decision makers in architectural, engineering & surveying practices considering how their offices can upskill and
- Those who wish to hear about new research and learn about the transition from nearly zero energy building (NZEB) to zero carbon building design.
Attendees will:
- Learn about the content, delivery & student cohort in each stage of the Masters (including CPDs and the Springboard+ funded PG Certificate BP(EED)).
- Listen to an announcement about the reform of RIAI Environmental Accreditation.
- Listen to graduates of Years 1 and 2 presenting their personal learning journey through the programme and its relevance to their practice.
- Graduates of Year 3 will present papers that address key issues of the appropriate retrofit of commercial and residential building stock.
- Hear Ciaran Cuffe (MEP and town planner), who was recently appointed European Parliament's rapporteur on the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), provide insights on the EU's next steps to decarbonise Europe's building stock by 2050.
- contribute to a concluding roundtable discussion.
- Be able to look at student posters, physically meet, see a selection of trade stands and come to wine reception afterwards.
LOCATION, DELIVERY & COST
The event will take place on campus in the TU Dublin Bolton St Building and on line through 'HyFlex' delivery. This delivery ensures those online can participate in a way that is more similar to being on campus, asking questions and hearing audience participation of those present in the Michael O'Donnell Theatre. Nevertheless, we encourage on campus attendance to have the richest experience, meet delegates, view student posters, see the trade stands of sponsors and participate in the wine reception afterwards.
Tickets are €10 per person for attendance on campus or online. Delegates can purchase ticket on the Eventbrite portal and choose which way they wish to attend. (Note, Eventbrite charge a €1.53 management fee.). Delegates choosing to attend the Symposium on campus can also purchase a ticket at the door on the day. The funds generated will be given to the Irish Architectural Benevolent Society (IABS).
