In my current role as Head of the HRM Discipline I am responsible for the efficient and effective management and development of the Human Resources Management discipline within the Faculty of Business, aligned to the TU Dublin Strategic intent 2030 and the Faculty vision “to be a leading business school in Ireland, advancing business and management practice, learning and engagement”. I believe in a truly collaborative culture that supports and encourages multi-stakeholder engagement with the student experience at its core.
My priorities are;
•To drive continued partnership with organisations, local communities, professional bodies (CIPD in particular) and international universities.
• To create a truly tailored learning environment for our learners in line with the UEM.
• To set and maintain the highest quality standard in the delivery, assessment and development of our community practice.
• To maintain and nurture a professional focus with deep discipline engagement in the HRM discipline as well as multi-discipline development across school and faculty.
• To live our core School values of excellence, impact and inclusion and embed them into our daily practice.
• To create innovative, industry-led cutting edge programmes that fulfil the faculty mission of having a focus on ‘learning by doing’.
• To nurture and focus on career-oriented teaching and research that underpins the advancement of management practice.
I have over 20 years experience in leading, directing and managing academic programmes including lecturing, research, programme development and design, academic assessment and academic administration. I am an active liaison with accrediting bodies (CIPD), professional organisations and industry networks, as well as an experienced and passionate Senior Lecturer with a demonstrated, successful history of working in the education management industry in Ireland, the UK and New Zealand. I am also an advisor and leader in quality assurance issues, having held the position of Academic Registrar with responsibility for the development of strategy and held senior accountability for the management, and related staff, processes and systems supporting Institution-wide Quality Assurance and Enhancement.
