I am a Chartered Psychologist who lectures in the Strategy & Leadership disciplinary area. In particular, I am an occupational psychologist- I look at people’s professions and their activity in work.

My research concerns the world of work and professional activity, particularly hospitals and healthcare environments. I am also interested in ethics- in research, in politics and in other theoretical and applied areas. I have supervised postgraduate students to successful completion and I am an active researcher and publisher. I am currently accepting PhD proposals from prospective PhD students.

Professionally, I am a former President of the Psychological Society of Ireland- the professional body for psychologists in Ireland- and a former Chair of the Irish Academy of Management, the premier academic and scholarly body for academics in business in Ireland.

I am a Fellow of the British Psychological Society, of the Irish Academy of Management and I am a Companion of the British Psychological Society.

I currently serve on the Joint Research Ethics Committee for Tallaght University and St James’s Hospitals and on the Royal Irish Academy’s Life and Health Sciences committee.
