In my current role as Senior Lecturer, I deliver leadership, strategy and cognate modules at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level. I also lead the “Leadership Development” module on the MBA programme. This module is jointly delivered with faculty colleagues and business executives over the full duration of the MBA programme.
In my role as Director of Final Year on both the BSc. Business and Law and the B.Sc. Business and Management programmes, I am proud to lead a great teaching team who have developed and deliver a wide range of modules (35 modules on BSc Business and Law Final Year and 30 modules on B.Sc. Business and Management Final Year). Student experience including a concern for well-being and resilience is at the heart of every decision made whilst directing Final Year.
Experiential learning opportunities for the students is a priority in the School. One critical prong of this provision – which also aligns with “case study” as our signature pedagogy - is the opportunity provided to our students to participate at national and international strategy competitions (Student Case Competitions). As Lead Coach for these teams I have primary responsibility for the selection and preparation of these teams. Since 2009, I have lead teams in fifteen different such International Competitions. In 2022-2023 academic session alone, students from the School competed in seven international competitions including in Montreal Canada (www2.jmucc.ca), Pamplona, Spain (https://www.unav.edu/web/unicc) and Sydney Australia http://www.aubcc.com.au/).
I have delivered lectures and workshops etc. in a Visiting Lecturer capacity in many universities in several countries including in the UK, US, Canada, India, Egypt, France, the Netherlands, Italy and Denmark. I am currently Chair of the State Examination Panel in the Czech Republic.
I am a graduate of University College Dublin, (BA and MA), DIT (PG Dip Law), Maynooth University (PG Dip Teaching and Learning), and the University of Leicester (MSc. and Doc. Soc. Sci.) I commenced my teaching career in UCD (Department of Politics) before going on to gain further experience teaching in TCD (Department of Political Science) and then in DCU (School of Law and Government) and DIT (various Faculties and Schools). I was appointed Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Business TU Dublin (then DIT) in 2016.
