Business Computing and Business Analytics Community Celebrate International Women’s Day.

Students, alumni and staff from the B.Sc. in Business Computing and B.Sc. in Business Analytics celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March with a coffee morning in the TU Dublin GROWTHhub ideation lab in Aungier Street. This event was part of a series of University-wide events organised by WITU (Women in Technology United) to celebrate International Women’s Day. Past graduates were invited back to speak with female technology students over coffee and pastries! The theme of this year's IWD is #breakthebias.

At the event lecturers, Farrah Higgins and Dr. Jenny Munnelly, spoke of the opportunities available to the students from third-year internship opportunities to international competitions such as European Innovation Academy (EIA) and World Skills. Past graduate, Claire Farrell, spoke about her career journey from her B.Sc. in Business Analytics to her current Software Engineering role with Groupon. Claire highlighted her 3rd-year internship with Workday and her engagement with co-curricular activities, such as CodeFirstGirls and international competitions like EIA and CaseIT, as incredible opportunities supported by TU Dublin.

 International Womens Day 2022

At the event, a video ran in the background where past graduates and lecturers shared their profile along with an inspirational quote for the students. The event was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and great to see the next generation of tech women networking and connecting with our past graduates! We would like to thank all our female alumni for coming back to take part in this event and for sharing their inspirational stories with our students.
