Current role & Experience
Anne-Marie is a lecturer in marketing and entrepreneurship at Technology University Dublin since 2007. She holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from Dublin City University, a first-class honours Master of Science in Advertising and Marketing Communications (executive stream) from the Faculty of Business, Dublin Institute of Technology (now TU Dublin), a professional diploma in Digital Marketing and a post-graduate qualification in Marketing from the Marketing Institute of Ireland.
She has lectured widely across both undergraduate and post-graduate programmes. Her current lecturing responsibilities include marketing communications, digital marketing and creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. She also coordinates and mentors final year business students at the Blanchardstown Campus who wish to under-take the Qualified Marketer Exam with the Marketing Institute of Ireland since 2017.
Teaching & Supervision
Anne-Marie also supervising research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Recent research supervision includes:
“Exploring the issue of trust between social media influencers and their audience: a case-study of the beauty industry.”
“Exploring the challenges of maintaining a marketing communications presence for alcohol in a heavy regulated environment: a qualitative industry research analysis”.
“An exploration of media consumption by final year business students in a Technological University – a qualitative study”.
Research
Anne-Marie’s research interests include: sport sponsorship, multi-sponsor branding activities and its’ impact on sponsorship effectiveness, digital marketing, regulation within the marketing communications landscape, client and agency relationships.
Anne-Marie has had a number of book chapters published in conjunction with the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) in the field of digital marketing including: search engine optimisation, search engine marketing, display advertising, social media marketing and ethics and regulation in the marketing industry.
Professional Experience
Prior to her role as an academic Anne-Marie worked in a senior account management position with full service marketing communications agencies; Irish International BBDO (now BBDO Dublin) and Ogilvy and Mather, Dublin. She worked on the planning, design and implementation of integrated marketing communications campaigns for Clients including Vodafone, Bank of Ireland, Renault, Cadbury, GSK (Lucozade brands) among many others across a wide variety of business sectors. This industry experience has shaped her approach to module design and delivery and she is passionate about creating a student experience that is inextricably linked to industry-readiness.
