Title of Research: Irish women's music collectives as sites of feminist activism

Andrea Cleary is a PhD student and part-time lecturer in the School of Media where she teaches modules on academic writing and popular music. Her research, which is funded by the Irish Research Council, investigates Irish women's music collectives as sites of feminist activism. Andrea earned an MMus (Master of Musicology) from University College Dublin in 2016 before working for a number of years as a freelance music and culture critic across Irish print publications and radio. Alongside teaching and researching, Andrea is currently working as a research assistant on the Live Music Mapping Project (LMMP) Dublin team. Her research focuses on the intersection between gender and music.
