Time: 10:00 hrs to 14:00 hrs each day
Fee: 180 Euro [150 Euro for registered Conservatoire students]
Closing date for enrolment: Friday, June 7, 2024
Summer School for Young Pianists, an exciting four-day programme, designed to bring pianists aged 12-18 together in a stimulating and friendly environment. Participants will take part in a series of performance workshops and other relevant musical activities designed to enhance their confidence in, and enjoyment of, playing the piano.
Guided by a team of piano lecturers, topics will include: developing and enhancing technique; practice advice; improving skills such as aural and sight-reading ; playing with others and more!
All sessions will take place in the Conservatoire's new building in East Quad Grangegorman.
The Summer School concludes with a participants concert in the wonderful new Concert Hall.
Minimum level: Grade 4 or equivalent

Planned Schedule:
"Get ready to play"
- Each day will begin with an active warm-up session to awaken the body and mind
Performance Workshop
- Working in groups, the students will be encouraged to play and course teachers will provide feedback and facilitate discussion among the group. Elements of technique, style, presentation and communication in performance will be addressed in a relaxed environment with an emphasis on developing critical listening skills.
Developing Core Skills
- Each day, there will be a session which takes a particular aspect of piano playing and offers practical insights. These sessions will be interactive.
Concert
- The Summer School comes to a close with a chance to perform in our Concert Hall
