Lee Geoghegan
GLAS at TU Dublin - Head Gardener
Email: lee@globalactionplan.ie
Lee is a former alumnus of TU Dublin, where he graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Horticulture. He is currently the horticulturist who is managing the GLAS Community Garden at TU Dublin, which was launched in May 2023.
Lee has a real passion for growing organically and has been challenged with transforming a half-acre site that had fallen into decline into an educational space, rich habitat for pollinators and other biodiversity, as well as a haven of organic produce. Lee has a strong focus on the environment and sustainability; he strives to incorporate these concepts throughout the garden as well as his everyday life.
He achieves this by running a series of workshops on various topics, such as waste reduction and composting tutorials. His role in the Community Garden is to work with schools, businesses, community groups, and members of the public, providing them with the education and key practical skills, thus empowering them to become ‘change makers’ of the future.
