Dr Tarun Kumar is a postdoctoral researcher at Technological University Dublin, specialising in Design Engineering and Sustainability. Currently, he works within the Sustainability Intelligence Team, focusing on sensor integration and the development of Digital Twins for optimising building performance and resource efficiency. Holding a Bachelor’s in Architecture and a Master’s in Product Design, Dr Kumar has significantly advanced research in smart cities, sustainable design, and intelligent infrastructure, with over 100 publications and book chapters to his name. His ground breaking work has led to impactful collaborations with prestigious institutions, including Harvard University, the University of Michigan, and Columbia University, enhancing his influence in the field.

Dr Kumar was awarded the esteemed Indo-US BHAVAN Fellowship at the University of Florida, furthering his contributions to sustainable design and energy efficiency. He has also inspired future designers and researchers through teaching roles at leading institutions like NID, IIT Delhi, and IIT Hyderabad. An active IEEE-HKN member, he is dedicated to driving both technological innovation and community engagement within engineering design.
