During Rebecca's PhD work in mathematical neuroscience at TU Dublin, she developed decision-making models tailored for cross-disciplinary users. Her research explored sensory decision-making for self-motion, particularly in elderly populations and individuals with movement disorders. Rebecca previously worked at the Central Statistics Office, where she gained experience working with large population datasets with qualitative and quantitative data. She brings expertise in statistical modelling, data analysis, and interdisciplinary research to her role.

Her work on TU Dublin's Sustainability Action Research and Innovation Team involves detailed, multi-level statistical inquiry into Smarter Travel data, the DCC Seeking out the Sedentary project, and other datasets, helping to identify barriers to active mobility. Through evidence-based research, she contributes to initiatives that make TU Dublin campuses and the wider community more walkable and liveable.
